These are the questions we hear most from owners in Burquitlam and around Lougheed Town Centre, answered as directly as we can. If yours is not here, ask it on a call or in a text; the answer will come from the strategist who would actually do your work.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost?
Plans follow Trades.Agency pricing: Growth at $1,999, Elite at $3,999 and Enterprise at $7,999 a month on month-to-month terms, or $1,499, $2,999 and $5,999 a month billed annually. Canadian clients add 5% GST.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No. Every plan rolls month to month; to stop, give us 30 days' notice. Annual billing is optional and simply lowers the monthly price.
How long before content brings in work?
Profile posts and short clips can help within weeks because they reach people already looking at your listing. Articles usually take three to six months to build search visibility, and twelve months is a fair horizon to judge them.
We tried an agency before and got nothing. Why would this be different?
We cannot promise it will be, and we will not. What we can do is show you exactly what we publish, report enquiries rather than likes, and keep everything month to month so you are never trapped if it is not working.
Who owns the content and the accounts?
You do. Articles, edited video, photos, your website and your Google and social accounts belong to your business. We work with manager access and hand everything back if you leave.
Do you write fake reviews or customer quotes?
Never. We can help you build a habit of asking real customers for reviews and draft replies for your approval, but we never invent feedback of any kind.
Do I need to be on camera?
No. Many good clips show only hands, tools and finished work. If you are comfortable talking to the camera, short explanations help build trust, but it is optional.
How much of my time does this take?
Usually 30 to 60 minutes a month for interviews and approvals, plus a few minutes a day sending photos or clips if you choose video. We plan around your busiest seasons.
How do you report?
Monthly, in plain language: what was published, how people found and used it, which calls, texts and emails followed, and what we will change next month.
Can you promise first-page rankings?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Search engines decide rankings. We control the quality and consistency of what you publish, and we report honestly on how it performs.
Do you work with HVAC companies?
This site focuses on other trades and local businesses. Heating and cooling companies are better served by the HVAC.Agency side of our group, which specialises in that market.
Are you a contractor or a referral service?
Neither. We create marketing content and advise owners. We do not do trade work and we do not sell or share your enquiries with anyone else.
Can you help if my business is on the Burnaby side?
Yes. We cover the whole corridor, including Lougheed Town Centre in Burnaby, and nearby areas such as Port Moody and New Westminster.
Money and contracts
Content plans follow the Trades.Agency price list. The smallest plan, Growth, is $1,999 a month month-to-month or $1,499 a month billed annually, plus 5% GST. There is no long-term contract, and cancelling takes 30 days' notice. Eligible trades businesses can start with a free 30-minute consultation that commits them to nothing.
The question worth asking is not "is this cheap?" but "how many extra jobs a month would cover it?" Our pricing page walks through that calculation with a worked example you can adapt.
Time and expectations
Content is a slow tool with long-lasting results. Expect the first published work within a few weeks, early movement on your Google profile within the first couple of months, and meaningful search traffic from articles somewhere between three and twelve months in.
Owners who do best share their knowledge freely and send raw photos and clips regularly. Owners who struggle tend to approve drafts slowly or stop sending material once the busy season starts. We plan around that by front-loading work in quieter months.
Ownership and leaving
Everything we make for you is yours: text, video, photos, the website and the accounts. We ask for manager access, never your passwords, and you can remove us at any time.
If you leave, we hand over the content library and any files we hold, and we remove our own access. We do not hold websites or listings hostage. Our about page explains the principles behind that.
How we are different from a general agency
We do one thing: local content for the Burquitlam–Lougheed corridor. That focus means we know the stations, the plaza, the plan areas and the questions newcomers ask. It also means we are honest when content is not the right tool. If what you need is a full website rebuild or a paid campaign, the wider group can help, and our sister site Burquitlam.Agency covers that agency side for the same corridor.
Questions about the corridor itself
Some questions are about place rather than price. Owners ask whether they should describe themselves as Burnaby or Coquitlam businesses, whether a page about Burquitlam will reach people near Lougheed Town Centre, and whether they should chase the new towers or the established streets.
Our short answer: describe yourself the way your customers describe where they live, and publish where you have real work to show. A renovator who has done ten jobs in townhouses off Clarke Road has something genuine to say about that part of the corridor. A café near the Austin Road side of the station has different neighbours and different questions. The areas page explains each part of the corridor, and our guide to writing local pages shows how to write about places without creating thin, repetitive pages.
When content is the wrong answer
We would rather lose a sale than sell the wrong thing. Content is a poor fit when your calendar is already full for months, when your business depends on a single large contract rather than many local customers, or when the real problem is something content cannot fix, such as a phone nobody answers. In those cases we will say so on the first call and suggest what might help instead.
Before you get in touch
It helps to have three things ready: your website address, the name of your Google listing, and a rough idea of your average job value. With those, the first conversation can be specific rather than general. The contact page explains what to include, and the services page describes the four formats we offer.
